He's been called a beast by his peers, a magician by critics and a wild boy by party goers. From the time he set foot in this game, he has been changing it and forcing other DJs to step up. At the age of 12, he was introduced to a DJ who, to this day, goes by the name Jammin' Gerald. Gerald took him under his wing and showed him the tricks of the trade. He became a club DJ at 14 when he debuted his talent at a Chicago teen club called "The Factory." From there he went on to compete in DJ competitions all across the state. When he was just 17, he built his own recording studio and started producing remixes of current hits to separate himself from other DJs of his caliber. Although he and Gerald remained close friends, he started Bass Productions and began dominating the local party scene with his own group of proteges: P Smoov, DJ Flash, DJ HISpeed, and DJ Terance James. While in college, Bass Productions became the Street Level Army and expanded into a music production company. Shortly after graduating from college, he began to open his studio up to kids who showed an interest in musical production. Some of which have gone off to produce music for artists like Marie Marie, and Twista. In 1997, DJ Bass signed a deal with Dance Mania Records, the largest distributor of dance music in the Midwest. He released one album entitled Street Level Music and co-produced several songs with DJ Funk and Jammin' Gerald. He also released the first slow cut mix tape ever entitled, "Slow Down Baby" and the follow up CD, "Slow Down Baby part 2, Sex & Love". In 2000 the newly founded roll model knew he had to keep pushing for better things, so he entered the Def Jam Pro Am DJ competition. This particular competition included famous professional radio DJs from around the country, as well as amateur street DJs. He came in third and was the only amateur to place in the top five to date. The future will soon come to pass and you can definitely expect more from the man known as The Infamous DJ Bass.
